Have You Recieved the Gift of Eternal Life?
If you died today, do you know for sure you have eternal life?
Did you know the Bible says you can know?
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.“ 1 John 5:13
To recieve the Lord as your personal Saviour you must:
1. Realize you are a sinner. The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
2. Realize you are on your way to hell fire after you die because of your sins. The Bible says, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." Psalm 9:17 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15
3. Be willing to turn to Jesus Christ from sin. The Bible says, “I tell you, Nay; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Luke 13:3
4. Believe that Jesus died and shed his blood, was buried and rose from the dead so you could be forgiven of your sins and have everlasting life. The Bible says, “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,” Revelation 1:5 “And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” I Corinthians 15:4
5. Accept that forgiveness of sin and fellowship with God is a free gift to you. The Bible says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephes. 2:8-9 Going to church, getting baptized, praying, and doing good works does not save you. Christ saves you when you place your faith in him.
6. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and become your personal Saviour. The Bible says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall saved.” Romans 10:13 “Saved” means being forgiven of your sins and receiving everlasting life. Talk to the Lord from your heart. You may want to say something like this: Dear Lord, I am a sinner on my way to hell and need forgiveness. I believe that you are God. I know you were virgin-born, died, shed your blood, was buried, and rose again from the dead. Please save me. Amen. If you accepted Jesus as your Saviour this is your spiritual birthday. You have been born into God’s family. God wants you to grow in his family by doing what the Bible says.
